LavaTM Embolic Agent is a type of interventional embolization technique used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. This minimally invasive procedure involves the injection of a liquid embolic agent into the blood vessel, which then solidifies and blocks blood flow to the affected area.
Lava- 34 Embolic Agent
LavaTM Embolic Agent is used in a variety of medical applications, including the treatment of arteriovenous malformations, aneurysms, and tumors. One of the key advantages of this technique is its ability to selectively target specific blood vessels, while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. This is achieved through the precise placement of the embolic agent, which can be guided by imaging techniques such as angiography. Higher viscosity (Lava 34) offers better control while the embolic agent is injected, but as the copolymerization process is faster. Agent delivery in areas too distal to the microcatheter tip is more difficult. Therefore, this formulation is best suited for very high-flow lesion, with important vascular branches that must be preserved, and when the microcatheter tip is close or within the target lesion.
Features & Advantages
1.It was made of non-adhesive material and used the latest technology of EVOH co-polymer.
2.It accommodates to different clinical requirements because of comprehensive degrees of viscosity (Lava 12, Lava 18 and Lava 34).
3.More fluidness makes it deeper penetration into the nidus and distal microvessels.
4.Stable and controlled delivery is easy to reach target embolism.
5.It has excellent visibility due to micronized grain size of Tantalum powder. The precipitation of Tantalum powder of LavaTM Embolic Agent is slower, but the competitor is rapid.
