The DredgerTM Mechanical Clot Retrieval Device is intended to restore blood flow and retrieve clots by removing thrombus from a large intracranial vessel for patients experiencing acute ischemic stroke symptom onset.
DredgerTM mechanical clot retrieval device is made of Nitinol which is used with a microcatheter. The structure adopts a unique dual stent retriever design. It is a specially designed tool that is used to extract clots from the circulatory system. These devices are used primarily for the treatment of ischemic strokes, which occur when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the brain. This type of stroke can be a devastating event that can result in permanent brain damage or even death, but the development of mechanical clot retrieval devices has greatly improved the outcomes of these patients. DredgerTM works by expanding a small metal mesh tube inside the clot. This creates a cage-like structure around the clot, allowing the device to pull it out of the vessel and restore blood flow to the brain. The stent retriever is inserted into the artery through a small incision in the groin, and then carefully navigated through the circulatory system to the site of the clot. Once it reaches the clot, the stent is expanded and the clot is removed.
Features &Advantages
1. The soft atraumatic distal tip prevent blood vessel wall from trauma.
2. Large push wire makes it simple for medical professionals to maneuver the device through the body.
3. DredgerTM can be released and the outer diameter of the stent can be adjusted to better adapt to the size of the occluded vessel in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
4. Exclusive varied cell design enables it to clamp the blood clots efficiently.
5. Lowest radial outward force, furthest intimal integrity.
6. The mechanical clot retrieval device is fully visible during the operation, and the doctor can accurately judge the relationship between the stent and the thrombus through the opening shape of the stent to improving the safety and success rate of the operation.
