The StatSpin VT centrifuge system is designed specifically for the in-clinic testing needs of today’s veterinarian. It provides quality serum and plasma in 30 to 90 seconds, a fraction of the time required by other systems. The whisper-quiet system is designed to minimize vibration, noise and heat build-up. Versatile yet safe, the multipurpose StatSpin VT is instantly adaptable to blood separations, urine sediments, microhematocrits and other routine applications.
With simple microprocessor controls and self-diagnostics, this easy-to-use system reduces the chance of operator error. Priced right for the in-clinic lab, the StatSpin VT is economical and will achieve return on investment quickly.
Applications
Blood separation
Produces quality serum or plasma from up to 1.3 mL of whole blood
Has spin time of only 30 to 90 seconds
LipoClear
Clears lipemia from 0.5 or 1.5 mL of serum or plasma
Requires five-minute room temperature incubation followed by a 150-second spin
Uses non-toxic pre-dispensed reagent tubes with shelf lives of one year
Urine sediment
Utilizes unique micro-method that correlates with standard procedure
Requires only 1.5 mL of urine
Features re-calibrated conical flip-cap tube that makes filling and decanting easy
Has spin time of only 45 seconds
Microhematocrits
Provides quiet, two-minute spin for 12 tubes at time
Is compatible with glass or easy-to-read SafeCrit plastic tubes (plain or heparinized)
Can be used with inexpensive hand-held reader or illuminating digital reading station (both available from Beckman Coulter)
